Episode #1 – The Phantom of the Swampera

It has begun! The first official episode of The NXT Wrestling Fan is live in podcatchers everywhere! Miles and MeganBob kick things off by covering the NXT show that originally aired on May 22nd, 2013.

In this episode:

Curt Hawkins’ look of total loss and dejection gives Bob all the feels.

Emma (right), interrupts Audrey Marie (left) while she’s being interviewed. Renee Young’s expression as she holds the microphone here just kind of says it all.

Cesaro attempts to pin, or at least gain leverage over, Sami Zayn. Contrary to Bob’s wishes and the standard rules of fanfic, Cesaro is not, in fact, going in for a kiss.

Look, sometimes there’s more kissing in wrestling than you might expect. Bray Wyatt does it a lot, even though he’s a Phantom-masked cult leader/swamp monster. At least someone besides Young Bob is willing to smooch Corey Graves.

In these four images, you can see the step-by-step basics of how an Irish Whip works. If that’s too abstract, here’s a GIF from a video game:

Man, that’s stupid. Pro wrestling, ladies and gentlemen!

Yes, this is is a relevant image. Listen to the episode.

By the way, our theme music is called “Learnbuckle” and it was created by the uniquely talented Rafael Medina, whose work you can and should follow via his Twitter account, @EarthMeauxFaux! You can also follow Miles @mjschneiderman, MeganBob @meganbobness, and the show itself @nxtwrestlingfan.
